Mountain Bikes

Durable, rugged bikes that are ideal for riding on rough terrain such as dirt and gravel trails.  They usually have flat handlebars, quality suspension, thicker tyres, and lower gear ratios for climbing hills.  Usually made from aluminium or carbon fibre to ensure the frame is kept light.

Road Bikes

Designed for speed and flat, even surfaces, road bikes are aerodynamic.  Typically with downward curving handlebars, water bottle holders, lightweight frames and thin tyres.  The gear ratios tend to be higher and are ideal for racing/triathlons, road riding or commuting.

Cruiser Bikes

Sometimes referred to as a beach cruiser, these bikes are designed for comfortable recreational rides.  Riders sit in a more relaxed riding position than other styles of bike and usually have a much wider and more comfortable seat.  Wide, chopper-style handlebars, fat tyres and basic gears (if any) are perfect for riding along the beach and around town.

Comfort Bikes

Comfort bikes are designed with a more upright riding position with fun and comfort in mind.  There are a lot of variations of comfort bikes but common features include wide, lightly-treaded tyres, saddle suspension, wider seats, front fork suspension and angled handlebars.  Great for exercise, fun, transport and recreation.
